Spode Limited Production Bone China Christmas Plate - 1970 - 8" Round

Made of luxurious bone china, this piece measures 8 inches across. It is the first Spode Christmas Plate, created under Limited Production in 1970. Themed after the Twelve Days of Christmas, this piece has a white base with delicate gold detailing. The center features a partridge sitting in a pear tree. The outer rim has a stunning border of drummers drumming, pipers piping, swans swimming, geese laying, lords leaping, maids milking, colly birds,french hens, and turtle doves. A delicate gold band along the inner rim completes the immaculate design.

The back features the stanza from the "Twelve Days of Christmas" in gold, along with the bicentennial "1770-1970" stamp.
