"A FRIEND IN NEED"
If you are a collector of John Deere Memorabilia, you are probably very familiar with the name Walter Haskell Hinton. Mr. Hinton was born in San Francisco, California in 1886. He was a popular commercial illustrator, who created more than two dozen paintings for Deere and Company during the 1930's and 40's.
This is the third tray featuring art by Mr. Hinton. The scene, outside a 1940's John Deere dealership, shows a barefoot boy holding a broken toy tractor accompanied by his sister gazing uncertainly at the parts and service sign. Inside, a Model "A" Tractor is on display.
