When I watch old movies, I am always distracted by the women's vanities and dressing tables. Their surfaces are filled with the most beautiful collectibles I have ever seen, from perfume bottles to powder boxes. That element of luxury is what makes this vintage footed powder box such a stunning find for any collector!
This piece stands 2.75 inches tall and is made of collectible depression glass. The green coloring is transparent in classic depression era form. Round in shape, it has vertical ridged detailing around the sides and a three footed base. The shape is cylindrical, though it grows a bit wider and more bulbous towards the rim.
But the collectible elements don't end here! This piece also comes with a circular bakelite lid. The upper surface is a gorgeous marbled green, with a deep gold wreath surrounding a vase filled with a bouquet of flowers. This motif is etched into the surface to create an elegantly textured look. I also love the bright orange underside of the lid: it is a pleasantly shocking burst of color.
This antique is in good condition with the exception of a small chip on the underside of the bakelite lid, as you can see in the photos. This chip is not seen unless the lid is turned upside down. With its abundance of collectible qualities and vintage design, this piece will look right at home in your collection!
