Collectible Brown Glaze Stone Pottery Pitcher With Handle - 6.25

I have always dreamt of being a potter. And despite the fact that two seconds at the potter's wheel sealed the deal that this would not be my future, I am fascinated by the art. When I came across this handcrafted pitcher, it seemed to define the beauty of the craft.

At 6.25 inches tall, this collectible piece has a handmade, rustic flavor. The medium brown surface is fixed with a tan glaze that looks at once raw and artistic. One can almost imagine the artist creating the one of a kind design, like his/her own personal signature. The piece has a rounded shape, much like a jug, with a small handle at the top and a subtle lip at the rim. It almost looks old-fashioned, as though it would not have looked out of place on a country farm a hundred years ago. This rustic quality defines this jug.

It is in good condition with the exception of a small crack on the inside of the pitcher, as you can see in the photos. With this in my collection, I don't think I would be able to resist displaying it somewhere where it can be admired everyday. I might not be able to create such a masterpiece myself - but that doesn't mean I shouldn't enjoy it!
