Moss Rose

The Moss Rose pattern was a popular pattern for many china & dinnerware manufacturers from the early 1800's up to the 1960's. In the late 1930's moss rose patterns were mass produced in Japan to be sold in America. The japanese versions of the pattern vary with slight differences in details and accents. The key features that most of the japan moss rose patterns feature are a white china base with most pieces displaying gold accents or trim. Many pieces have embossed features and some feature scalloped edges. The floral motifs feature pink moss roses with grean leaves and pink or blue vines intertwined.
